Position Summary:  The Executive Director shall be responsible for executing the overall mission of MTM, Inc., as stated in its core documents; such as the Mission Statement, Strategic Plan, and Principles and Practices. He is the primary spokesman for MTM, Inc., in all matters that impact or influence our stated Mission. He shall be an able executive, motivated by a spirit of service, and an impartial administrator, who commands the respect of colleagues, staff, and benefactors.

The Mission:  Winning and Training the Military for Jesus Christ

Duties:  The Executive Director shall be the administrative head of MTM, Inc., under the direction of the Board of Directors. He shall be the official channel of communication between missionaries/staff and the Board of Directors. He shall preside at all meetings of the Board; he is to represent the Board in matters of policy and the conduct of MTM.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and equip current missionaries and their ministries
  • Recruitment of new missionary directors
  • Strategically plan for future MTM locations
  • Ensure the fiscal management, stability, and integrity of MTM
  • Ensure technology is effectively utilized, including social media and website
  • Represent MTM at local/national events
  • Develop new revenue support for our Mission
  • Raise personal financial donor support
  • Remain informed of theological issues that may impact/influence our Mission
  • Communicate effectively with the Board in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Interact within Center events, when appropriate/available
  • Establish connections with local military leaders
  • Remain informed of current concerns/trends in the military
  • Review and update all written policies/procedures
  • Author and submit monthly receipt letters to supporters
  • Retention and hiring of competent, qualified staff
  • Review and approve contracts for services
  • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors

 

Qualifications:

  • A strong and compelling faith in Jesus Christ
  • Active member of a local, like-minded church
  • Theologically trained
  • Visionary thinker – ability to see the big picture
  • Preferably military background/experience, or minimum of 5 years in ministry experience
  • Evangelistic in practice
  • Proven communication abilities – written, oral and interpersonal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Works collaboratively with staff, missionaries,  and Board
  • Embodies “truth and love” filled with grace toward others
  • Outgoing and hospitable, able to connect quickly and easily with others
  • Self-starter with a desire to bring ideas into action
