Discipleship

WHAT IS A MILITIAMAN?

Historically, Militiamen were patriotic citizens of the Colonies and volunteered to form an Army during the time of crisis. Each Militiaman was first trained to be skillful in the use of arms and then assigned an area of responsibility. The Militiaman was expected to always be ready to fight in defense of his country. Here at Missions To Military we are calling out and training servicemen and women, and equipping them spiritually to be faithful Soldiers in the Army of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Military Ministry – DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

In each of our Military Christian Centers we are looking for men and women to become a vital part of what God is doing in the world today. Military Ministry is Winning and Training the Military for Jesus Christ and is one of the most exciting and fruitful harvest fields of ministry on the face of the earth. We have designed a comprehensive training program to establish servicemen and women in:

• A Personal Devotional Life
• A Consistent Bible Study
• Doctrinal Knowledge
• Personal Soul-winning
• Godly Social Relationships
• Military Missions and Military Ministry

IT IS NOT EASY . . .

to complete our Discipleship Program, but it can be one of the most spiritually profitable and life transforming experiences of a person’s life. Do YOU have what it takes to be a Militiaman? “And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23

HOW TO START . . .

All services of the Military start with Boot Camp. The main purpose of Boot Camp is to change the thinking of the trainee from that of a civilian to that of a serviceman. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2 Our Discipleship Program is our “Boot Camp” for servicemen and women who desire to have their thinking as well as their lives transformed by the Word of God.

Basic Training

1. Each participant must complete the five (5) studies of our Fellowship Bible Study.

Although these studies are relatively short, consisting of between 20 to 30 questions each, they are a vital foundation upon which godly thinking is built. “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalm 119:9 & 11

2. Each must memorize 10 scripture verses. It has been proven over and over again that memorizing scripture is the best defense against the attacks of Satan; thus, we must learn to hid God’s Word in our hearts. We have chosen these ten verses to help equip you to do battle.

3. Each must know the books of the Bible. It is very difficult to do Bible study and scripture memorization if one does not know where to find the verses. To help in this, all the books of the Bible must be learned IN ORDER.

CHARTING THE COURSE

The Christian life has been compared to a person swimming upstream in a river; as long as you are swimming you will make progress. The stronger and more skilled you are, the faster the progress, but if you stop to rest on past accomplishments you will begin to drift in the wrong direction. So, too, it is impossible to stay in one place in the Christian life, for you are either going forward or drifting backward. Those who allow themselves to drift too long are headed for sure disaster. So, in the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:1,

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” James 1:5, 6

THE ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM

Our Advanced Discipleship Program consists of three advancements: 3rd, 2nd, and 1st Class. The requirements for each class consists of reading and studying some excellent books; being tested, both oral and written, on material covered; and memorizing 100 more scripture verses.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.“ Colossians 3:16
